Personal Touches

Personal Touches

With all the technological advancements, it is now possible to stay connected to people from all over the world. Within seconds we can text, email, call, invite, friend, snap, or pin. We have thousands of followers and friends. Or do we? Are we really staying connected or is this just the modern way to keep our social circle in tact? Another option, the actual mailing of a handwritten card, is now considered to be outdated and affectionately called snail mail. But I believe that this mode of communication adds the personal touch that technology fails to provide.

Do you remember the last time you received a card in the mail that had a special handwritten note inside? How did you feel? Did the experience make you feel loved and put a smile on your face? For me, it feels wonderful to receive such a gift because I know the person cared enough to first pick out the card, and second, to think about what they wanted to say to me. I know it took time to hand write the message, address the envelope, and mail it to me.

Using snail mail may be considered outdated, but isn’t it time to revive this tradition and send the personal touch of a handwritten card?
