New Year, New YOU

I love the start of a new year!  It is a fresh start, a new beginning, and a chance to make changes in our life. For me, it all starts with pen and paper. I need to plan for the changes I want to make.

I begin the process of setting goals at the beginning of a new year, by thinking about what is important to me. What do I want to accomplish in the next 12 months? What habits do I need to establish in my life that will help me complete the tasks to reach my goals?

It is easy to keep setting goals relating to the same area of life if that is what we desire the most. For example, how many times has "Lose 10 lbs" been on your goal list on January 1? However, physical fitness is just one area to consider. Read this blog about Staying Balanced to see the seven areas of life to think about when setting your goals.

Some goals are really just very large projects that we want to accomplish. For example, "Write a book" might be something you want to do. This goal will not be achieved in one step. This is a big project that will need to be broken down into several small steps. Read this blog about Setting Goals to learn some tips.

I have lived that last few decades of my life by setting and achieving goals. Some are big projects while others are just habits that I have established in my life. Having goals that I am working towards gives me motivation and purpose. My life moves forward every time I am able to check a goal off my list.

So grab your paper, pen, and a cup of coffee. Make this year different! Set goals and actually achieve them by making a plan, establishing habits, and tracking your success. I am excited to support you on your journey!
